 TOYO-THAI COMPLETED MDA/UAT PROJECT FOR BAYER POLYURETHANES (SHANGHAI) IN CHINA

In April 2008, Toyo-Thai Corporation Ltd. (TTCL) achieved Mechanical Completion for MDA/UAT Project for Bayer Polyurethanes (Shanghai) Company Limited (BPUS). The project is composed of production facilities for Methylene Dianiline (MDA) and utility facilities for MDI Train Unit (UAT) whereas MDA is used as a chemical intermediate in the synthesis of polyurethane polymers.

TTCL&rsquo s scope of work under the terms of the contract includes detailed engineering, procurement service of equipment and materials, and construction management of the plant on a lump sum basis. This project was built in Shanghai Chemical Industry Park, Caojing, Shanghai, People&rsquo s Republic of China. By collaborating with Toyo-China, who familiar with local laws and regulations in China, for local services i.e. local procurement service and filing applications to local authorities, TTCL successfully completed this project on time as committed schedule.

Since 2000, TTCL has established a close relationship with Bayer over many years through the construction of Bisphenol-A (BPA) Plant in Thailand which was completed in 2001, as well as other debottlenecking projects for Bisphenol-A and Polycarbonate (PC) in the same complex in 2006. Moreover, in China, TTCL also completed MMDI Project for Bayer Polyurethanes (Shanghai) in 2006.

Based on its proven experience record and collaborative relations with clients and local partners, TTCL will continue provide services as Engineering Contractor to clients for petrochemical and chemical industries.
