TOYO-THAI AWARDED CONTRACT FROM PTT
Toyo-Thai Corporation Public Company Limited (TTCL) has received an onshore contract for Lube Base Oil Pilot-Scale Unit Project from PTT Public Company Limited (PTT). By using process technology and equipment of Nippon Oil Corporation, the largest oil company in Japan, the Unit will produce lube base oil products (Group I, II, III) based on API specification from various feedstock such as Arabian Light Crude, Long Residue and Hydrocracker Bottom.
The Unit with total investment of 200 million Baht is to be built at Wangnoi, Ayutthaya, Thailand and scheduled to complete by the first quarter of 2010. PTT Research and Technology Institute (PTT-RI) will analyze these base oil products for future product development. The Unit shall also be used for other application especially to produce Bio-Hydrogenated Diesel (BHD) by using different types of vegetable oil (such as oil from jatropha seeds) as feedstock.
The contract is awarded to TTCL based on the excellent track record that TTCL has with PTT-RI through Biodiesel Pilot Plant Project which was handed over in 2007. Currently, TTCL has 5 major projects in hands (backlog) for 2009 - 2010 worth over Baht 11,200 million (US$ 320 million). With proven track record over 140 projects in Thailand and 20 overseas projects, TTCL becomes one of the international reliable integrated EPC contractors for petrochemical, petroleum and chemical industries.
